La radiochirurgie par Gamma Knife
La radiochirurgie par Gamma Knife constitue une thérapie alternative ou complémentaire à une intervention neurochirurgicale ou une radiothérapie pour certaines affections cérébrales lorsque la cible est de petit volume. Les indications les plus fréquentes sont les métastases cérébrales, les schwannomes vestibulaires et les méningiomes, la névralgie du trijumeau, les malformations artério-veineuses cérébrales, certains gliomes, et les adénomes hypophysaires. Créé en 1999, le Centre Gamma Knife de l’ULB reste actuellement le seul centre en Belgique où un traitement radiochirurgical par Gamma Knife peut être réalisé. Rev Med Brux 2012 ; 33 : 367-70

Gamma Knife radiosurgery
Gamma Knife radiosurgery can be used as an alternative or complementary therapy to neurosurgery or radiotherapy for the treatment of some brain disorders or tumors of small volume. The most frequent indications are brain metastases, vestibular schwannomas, meningiomas, trigeminal neuralgia, arteriovenous malformations, some gliomas, and pituitary adenomas. Created in 1999, the Gamma Knife Center of the ULB remains currently the unique center in Belgium where a Gamma Knife radiosurgery treatment can be performed. Rev Med Brux 2012 ; 33 : 367-70
